Humble Beginnings Foundation
Growing up on the south side of St. Petersburg, FL, I saw children in economically disadvantaged areas and a large population of homeless individuals. Personally, I was fortunate enough to have a tremendous family who sacrificed everything to provide for me. My family instilled in me the importance of volunteering and giving back to my community. These same values have carried me through my adult years, volunteering my time and resources is something I take pride in. You never know what a simple gesture can do; with a little bit of giving and compassion I hope to change the lives of others.
The Humble Beginnings Foundation was started in 2023 to help individuals in economically disadvantaged areas receive aid and resources to better themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. Our mission is to help children and adults achieve a sustainable and functional lifestyle.
Humble Beginnings and The MVS Charity Softball Game
The Humble Beginnings Foundation was founded in 2023 by Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The MVS Charity Softball Game was created to support Valdes-Scantling’s new Foundation and bring awareness to it’s mission.
In it’s Inaugural year, the MVS Charity Softball Game raised $200,000 for his Humble Beginnings Foundation. Money raised stayed in the Kansas City area supporting a handful of local organizations.
